SEPTEMBER 2009 NEWSLETTER
So Spring is suppose to be here. I'm not so sure about that. Luckily I have spent a lot of time in Maputo this past month whilst my brothers and sisters are shivering in Cape Town!
I attended the Moshito conference in Johannesburg at the beginning of the month. I urge all my fellow musicians to attend in the future, especially those from Cape Town. We have to show our muso friends in the North that we have not gone into hibernation but are very much alive and well. The conference and exhibition needs numbers and support. The topics are interesting and the sessions informative. Not everything that is said it relevant to everyone all the time but there is always something to be learnt.
Best of all for me was bumping into a host of friends that I haven't seen for a while. I need to come back to Johannesburg just to 'hang' out with you guys and catch up!
The highlight for me this month must be the final ratification of my partnership deal with Vodacom Mozambique. I am looking forward to many interesting and fruitful projects together.
As we begin the slide towards the end of the year, I hope that there will be lots of gigs confirmed because I am dying to play again!
Keep warm and dry.
