It has been a while since I wrote a newsletter. What a crazy start to the year this has been.

Luckily I spent a fair bit of January relaxing partly in Mozambique and partly in Cape Town. But work started good and proper in February.

I performed with M-Connexxion at the huge Mining Indaba event held in Cape Town at the CTICC. All the who's who of mining on the continent were there and it is so encouraging to see so many more delegates than in previous years. I have been performing at this event from nearly five years and this must be the biggest yet.

I spent my birthday in Maputo which again was a first in many years.

Then on to Johannesburg for the press tour for Khanimambo. What a great response. Thank you to all the radio, print and TV media who hosted me. I was very grateful for the opportunity to explain this beautiful album.

The highlight of the year so far has been seening "KHANIMAMBO" nominated for two SAMA awards. Namely for Best African Adult Album and Best Engineer for Paris Zannos. This is so exciting.

We are so proud that the album has been recognized by the industry. Both categories are strong. Technically it is superb and musically it has been extremely well received. This all for a little album sung entirely in different launguages from Mozambique.

We have started rehearsals for the jazz festival and when we next do a newsletter I will be able to tell you all about the experience. The excitement is building. Cape Town is overflowing with visitors. For me to be on the Kippies stage between Dave Koz and James Ingram is a dream come true.

Then we will be going back to Maputo for the launch of a new jazz concept…… I will tell you all about it next time.
